As you are aware, the Cloudbursts, floods and landslides brought on by incessant rain over the past 5-6 days in Uttarakhand have left a trail of destruction across the state. At least 130 people have died and floods have washed away four hundred roads, scores of telephone towers, vehicles and houses as well as a helicopter and left some 75,000 pilgrims to Badrinath, Kedarnath, Yamunotri, Gangotri and Hemkund Sahib. The Army has been called in to rescue them as well as local villagers. The condition is still worst with heavy rain continuing in the state and also other neighboring states.
Subhash Goyal, President, IATO appealed on behalf of the industry to help the people who are affected by the natural calamity and to the families of the victims who have died. He request to kindly contribute graciously with whatever amount you can for this cause and help the government for rehabilitation work for the local people and also the pilgrims.
Mr Goyal said please send your cheque to IATO office at the earliest so that we can collectively send the cheques to PM Office. Cheque to be made in favour of “Prime Minister National Relief Fund”.
