MP to showcase as ‘Partner State’ at the inaugural edition of GET-INDIA

New Delhi: ‘Hindustan Ka Dil’ Madhya Pradesh will showcase as the partner state at the inaugural edition of Global Exhibition on Tourism branded as GET-INDIA. The event is scheduled later this month from April 23-25 at Delhi’s Pragati Maidan. An agreement in this regard has already been reached between Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation (MPSTDC) and FAITH, organiser of GET-INDIA. The show is being organised as part of Global Exhibition on Services (GES) under the aegis of Union Ministry of Commerce and Union Ministry of Tourism.
One of the most pioneering State Tourism Boards in the country, MPSTDC has latched upon the opportunity to showcase the state’s myriad tourism attractions at the first GET-INDIA amidst some massive interest in a show being organised on an initiative from Prime Minister Office (PMO). GES will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi who will also later take time out to visit the GET-INDIA pavilion.
Speaking of the state’s participation as the partner country, Ashwani Lohani, Commissioner – Tourism, Gov. of MP & Managing Director, MPSTDC, said that with a very progressive government in office that knows that tourism can be a big driver of change in several areas, his department is aggressively working at setting things right on the ground and then letting it be known through active marketing using the right platforms.
“We want MP Tourism should get the right exposure that is due to it. We realise that GET-INDIA is being handled by FAITH which is the apex body of tourism associations. (Therefore), we thought that it would be in the fitness of things that MP which is a leading state in tourism should get involved. We have taken a big pavilion at GET-INDIA and will showcase all our products, policies and the various promotional measures,” Mr Lohani said.
Commenting on MP’s participation as partner state, GET-INDIA Chairman and Vice Chairman of FAITH, Sarab Jit Singh said, “As a destination, Madhya Pradesh is probably one of the most endowed states of the country. Bhopal, Gwalior, Khajuraho, Bhimbetka, Sanchi, Ujjain, Omkareshwar and its treasure of National Parks are all great attractions for international tourists. MP has a tremendous opportunity at hand to showcase its tourist treasures to some of the most influential tourist trade from across the world at the three-day event.”
GETINDIA, a B2B travel trade mart, is being organised as part of the first ‘Global Exhibition on Services’ (GES) aimed at showcasing country’s potential in tourism and five other sectors in order to position India as a leader in Services sector.
